Roots need oxygen as well as water. When growing media becomes compacted or waterlogged, roots struggle to breathe. BLUMA's mixes use structured ingredients to maintain air spaces while holding the moisture plants need.

Give your existing plants a little more from the soil they're already in. Our Biochar Topper adds porous, carbon-rich material that can help retain moisture and nutrients while providing habitat for soil microorganisms. Apply a thin layer and water through.

Start with your plant. We'll help you find the right growing conditions.
Water in. Water out.
Water should reach the roots, not leave them sitting in it. Our growing mixes combine moisture-holding ingredients with open structure, helping excess water drain while retaining moisture plants can use.
- Part-fill the pot with the mix for where the plant lives.
- Position the plant and backfill gently. Don't press it down.
- Water through until it runs clear from the base, then let it drain.
